About the role

The Manager, Social Strategy & Operations is the North America Consumer Brands (NACB) capability owner and accountable decisionmaker for social. This role sets the strategic direction, operating model, standards, priorities, and governance required to deliver effective social marketing across NACB.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and ongoing evolution of the NACB social operating model, establishing a cohesive enterprise-wide approach to social that aligns brand activity with consumer behavior, business priorities, and the broader marketing ecosystem.

  • Establish clear social principles, channel roles, operating standards, and best practices to be applied consistently across the NACB portfolio that brands and agency partners are expected to follow.

  • Maintain a forward-looking perspective on social platforms, consumer behavior, creator trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments and determine which opportunities NACB should pursue, test, scale, or deprioritize.

  • Lead the NACB integrated social framework, working with MIM and relevant cross-functional partners to establish how Paid, Owned and Earned Media (POEM) together across the portfolio.

  • Determine how content, audiences, and investments should move across Paid, Owned and Earned channels to maximize consumer and business impact.

  • Establish social key performance indicators, learning priorities, and measurement expectations in partnership with CIBA, MIM, agencies, and analytics partners.

  • Serve as the accountable business owner for NACB social agency relationships and capabilities, setting expectations for agency performance, resources, outputs, and ways of working.

  • Determine business requirements and priorities for social technology and ensure technology investments support the future-state NACB operating model.

  • Resolve portfolio-level resource conflicts and serve as the final escalation and decision point for social operating matters.

  • Own the NACB influencer and creator marketing framework, establishing the portfolio-wide strategy, operating principles, and governance for influencer activity.

  • Partner with Brand, PR, MIM, Legal, Procurement, agencies, and other stakeholders while maintaining ownership of the NACB influencer operating framework and standards.

Key Success Measures

  • Operational Efficiency: Reduction in cross-functional friction and time-to-market for social campaign execution across business units.

  • Modernization & Tool Adoption: The speed and success of scaling modernized social technology and operational playbooks across brands.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in social media, digital marketing, integrated marketing, media, influencer/creator marketing, or related discipline, on the client and/or agency side.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Deep understanding of the social media ecosystem, major social platforms, campaign management software, creator/influencer marketing, and evolving consumer behaviors.

  • Experience developing and implementing social strategies across multiple brands, businesses, or categories.

  • Experience working across multiple components of the social ecosystem, including organic social, paid social, influencer/creator marketing, content, community management, and measurement.

  • Experience developing or managing influencer/creator programs and associated measurement and governance frameworks.

  • Strong digital and social acumen with an ability to translate emerging technology and platform capabilities into business opportunities.

  • Strong understanding of social measurement, KPIs, test-and-learn approaches, and the use of data to inform strategic decisions.

  • Advanced project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, partners, and workstreams simultaneously.

  • Experience managing ambiguity and leading change within a highly matrixed organization.

  • Excellent communication, consulting, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Curious, proactive, collaborative, and action-oriented mindset with a willingness to challenge existing ways of working and drive continuous improvement.
