About the role
Join Pasha Logistics LLC as Manager, Shop (Lead Technician), where you will oversee maintenance operations supporting warehouse equipment, yard assets, vehicles, and facility mechanical systems that keep freight operations moving safely and efficiently. This role serves as the technical and operational leader for the shop function, responsible for directing daily maintenance activities, leading Shop Mechanics, improving equipment reliability, managing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead Shop Operations & Equipment Maintenance:
- Lead maintenance operations for forklifts, yard trucks, material handling equipment, vehicles, and facility mechanical systems.
- Apply hands-on technical knowledge to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and guide advanced repairs.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and service calls using maintenance tracking systems.
- Drive preventive and corrective maintenance programs that maximize uptime and minimize operational disruptions.
- Partner with Operations teams to schedule maintenance activities around inbound and outbound freight schedules.
- Drive Preventive Maintenance, Parts Management & Vendor Support:
- Establish and maintain PM schedules, inspection routines, and repair processes that improve equipment performance.
- Manage parts room operations, inventory levels, reorder points, and usage tracking to reduce downtime.
- Obtain quotes, manage vendor services, verify workmanship, and ensure costs and timelines align with expectations.
- Oversee welding and light fabrication activities to support safe, durable equipment repairs and modifications.
- Ensure shop tools, test equipment, calibration routines, and equipment certifications are properly maintained.
- Champion Safety, Compliance & Maintenance Quality:
- Conduct safety training, inspections, and coaching to reinforce safe work behaviors.
- Ensure OSHA documentation, inspection records, maintenance logs, and incident records are accurate and audit ready.
- Assist with equipment damage, near-miss, and injury investigations while implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor quality standards to ensure repairs, maintenance activities, and documentation meet safety and operational expectations.
- Lead and Develop Shop Team Performance:
- Provide direction, coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities for mechanics and temporary labor.
- Coordinate scheduling, workload assignments, timekeeping, and staffing needs to support operational demands.
- Establish clear goals, accountability, and standards for safety, productivity, and quality.
- Encourage continuous learning and strengthen the skills needed to support evolving equipment and operational requirements.
- Support Financial Management & Continuous Improvement:
- Support budgeting and oversight for parts, tooling, vendor expenses, capital needs, and refurbishment projects.
- Monitor KPIs, identify risks, and provide updates on maintenance performance and improvement opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, improve workflows, eliminate rework, and increase service reliability.
- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and leadership teams to align maintenance priorities with company objectives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred
- Valid state-issued driver license and acceptable driving record required
- Class A Commercial Driver's License preferred
- OSHA forklift trainer, welding certifications, or equivalent safety/maintenance credentials preferred
- 5+ years of equipment, fleet, or industrial maintenance experience supporting warehouse, distribution, freight, or production environments
- 2+ years of supervisory experience leading mechanics, technicians, or shop operations
- Experience managing vendors, temporary labor, and high-volume operational environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of forklifts, yard trucks, hydraulics, brakes, and material handling equipment
- Experience with preventive maintenance planning, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair methods
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements, hazard communication, and maintenance safety practices
- Experience with parts inventory control, vendor coordination, and basic budgeting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance or operational systems
- Welding and light fabrication experience preferred

Work environment
This role works across a corporate office environment, freight warehouse facility, outdoor yard and lot, and workshop settings. The position may involve exposure to hot, humid, cold, and other inclement weather conditions.
Travel
Occasional travel is required. The successful candidate must be able to travel independently to local facilities.
Pay
Zone 2: $90,000 - $100,000. Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.
