Manager, Security Technology
Summary
The Manager, Security Technology is responsible for overseeing and improving the health system's physical security technologies and parking operations. This role ensures reliable, secure, and compliant operation of security systems and related technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as the organization's subject matter expert for physical security technology, offering guidance and support across all departments and facilities.
- Manages and maintains the organization's physical security infrastructure, including access control, video management systems, intrusion detection, panic alarms, intercoms, and parking access technologies, ensuring secure and efficient operation.
- Establishes, revises, and enforces comprehensive policies, procedures, and standards for security technology systems and parking operations.
- Counsels and coaches the Security Technology Coordinator and Parking Coordinator, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and operational priorities.
- Manages vendor contract compliance, service levels, upgrades, and capital planning for security technology systems.
- Guides system expansions, replacements, and new technology implementations from initial planning to operational launch.
- Participates in risk assessments, gap analyses, and vulnerability evaluations concerning physical security systems and parking operations.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance system functionality, user experience, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborates with Emergency Preparedness and Security Operations on drills, emergency planning, and system testing.
- Oversees the recruitment, hiring, team/department orientation, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions including up to termination processes for a team or department.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in security management, Information Technology, Facilities Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in physical security technology, facilities technology, or large-scale campus operations, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Physical Requirements
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
