About the role
We’re hiring a Manager, Security Operations to build and lead Nscale’s Security Operations Center (SOC) and own 24x7 security monitoring and response operations.
What you'll be doing
- Build and lead the SOC
- Build and scale a 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC) for Nscale
- Manage and develop a team of SOC analysts through hiring, training, and performance management
- Design coverage models, including shift structures and on-call rotations
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and responsible use of AI in security operations
- Run security monitoring and incident workflows
- Own alert monitoring, investigation, and escalation across infrastructure, endpoints, and enterprise systems
- Define and enforce SOC processes for triage, escalation, and incident handling workflows
- Act as an escalation point for high-severity security events
- Carefully coordinate smooth handoffs during major incidents in partnership with Incident Response
- Improve detection quality and operational efficiency
- Drive adoption of AI and automation to improve alert triage, enrichment, and response workflows
- Partner with Detection & Response to improve alert quality, coverage, and signal-to-noise ratio
- Advance AI-assisted detection techniques that strengthen SOC efficiency and effectiveness
- Improve tooling, case management, and automated response systems
- Measure and optimize performance
- Establish operational metrics including SLAs, MTTR, alert fidelity, and coverage
- Track SOC performance to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
- Balance operational efficiency with analyst experience and retention
- Drive process and workflow improvements that increase consistency and response quality
About You
- 6–10+ years of experience in security operations or SOC environments
- 2+ years of experience managing or leading security operations teams
- Strong understanding of SOC workflows, triage processes, and escalation models
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, and security monitoring tools
- Familiarity with cloud environments and modern infrastructure
- Experience building or scaling 24x7 operations and shift-based teams
- Experience leveraging or implementing automation and AI-assisted workflows in security operations
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Able to balance operational efficiency with analyst experience and retention
- Experience in high-scale or infrastructure-heavy environments, AI/ML environments, GPU-based infrastructure, SOAR platforms, or close partnership with detection engineering and incident response teams is a plus

Salary Range
$150,000 - $220,000 USD
