DoorDash · San Francisco, CA · 4 wk ago
Business Development$126k–$185k/yrFull-time

About the Team

Our sales and success teams are the heart and soul of DoorDash, helping us partner with top merchants (think restaurants, grocers, convenience stores, retailers) across the country to grow their revenue and help them operate even better. As DoorDash grows both in scale and scope of offering, the strength of our sales engine and organizational structure must grow with it.

We are looking for a Manager level in Sales Strategy and Operations to:

  • Develop strategic plans in retaining and growing partnerships at scale.
  • Leverage data tools (e.g. SQL) to help enhance sales productivity in targeting and closing the most valuable partnerships.

You'll work among our sales, partner management, operations, product, and analytics teams to build the merchant foundation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sales Strategy Manager to build and execute the Long-Tail Emerging Bets strategy for our Global Sales Vendor organization. You will work closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Sales S&O, Finance, and more!) to retain and grow Merchants at scale. You will report into the Manager of Revenue Strategy and Operations in our Merchant organization.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to post-sales strategy for our top company priorities. This team sits at the nexus of both scaled initiatives and innovative bets at DoorDash focused on catapulting our restaurant partners’ growth. This role will help to develop a strategic vision for SMB Emerging Bets sales strategy, aligning it with DoorDash's overarching business goals.
  • Drive operational excellence in reporting cadences, rigorous pipeline tracking, and sales productivity – leading end-to-end ideation to execution through data-driven insights.
  • Partner with our cross-functional teams to expand and elevate our offering. To retain, optimize, and grow SMBs, this role will partner closely with internal DoorDash stakeholders to guide the top priorities for the US Marketplace and ensure our GTM approach across products and initiatives is effective and efficient for sales teams.
  • Look around corners for the team. Whether planning for the next quarter, for the next year with new products, or for several years down with new organizations, this role will be an owner in shepherding the sales function into the future.
  • Map complex operational workflows, diagnose data gaps, and architect AI-driven solutions end-to-end—from process discovery through prototype to production deployment.
  • Build in AI tooling (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) and ship real automation that eliminates manual work, closes visibility gaps, and accelerates decision-making across the business.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, business development, operations, technology, banking, analytics or related experience with a track record of leading initiatives and hitting goals.
  • Strong cross-functional business experience, project management, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets + modeling in Excel / Google Sheets, advanced proficiency in SQL, and well-versed in data visualization tools (e.g. Sigma, Tableau) to help solve ambiguous problems.
  • Willing to roll up their sleeves and flex up or down as needed - “humble doer”.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Think in systems, not features. Treat every broken process as a build opportunity and every data gap as a use case waiting to be deployed. This is an AI-native operating environment where you are expected to build, test, and iterate continuously.

Pay

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado, is $125,800—$185,000 USD. In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) plan with employer matching.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Wellness benefits, commuter benefits match.
  • Paid time off and paid sick leave in compliance with applicable laws (e.g. Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act).
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • 11 paid holidays.
  • Disability and basic life insurance.
  • Family-forming assistance.
  • Mental health program.
