Role Overview

The position involves leading and supervising nursing and ancillary staff to provide safe, high-quality, whole-person care. The manager maintains a visible leadership presence, collaborates with healthcare teams, and ensures efficient clinical operations to achieve patient, family, and staff satisfaction. Responsibilities include staffing, coordinating daily unit activities, developing staff through coaching and education, and fostering a culture of safety and open communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a skilled, high-performing team through recruitment, evaluation, and staff development.
  • Set and monitor goals for patient safety, care quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct patient rounds, coordinate care plans, and address operational issues.
  • Manage staffing needs, schedules, and overtime to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Facilitate patient throughput, discharge planning, and maintain a safe environment.
  • Perform emergency preparedness reviews and other assigned duties.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required); Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' nursing experience; leadership experience is a plus.
  • Current RN licensure, ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NRP certifications are required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage staff, coordinate care, and ensure compliance with standards.
