Manager, Risk Management (Global Payments Network)
About the role
We are seeking a Manager of Risk Management to serve as a strategic partner to the business during a pivotal time of transformation. Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have high exposure across business teams and work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. As a Risk Manager for the Global Payment Network, you will drive strategy and execution on complex program design, ensuring our rapid evolution is met with robust governance, control, and process excellence.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to design and drive the implementation of a new, comprehensive process health program for the integrated Global Network, aligning it with enterprise risk and regulatory requirements.
- Manage day-to-day execution of delivering robust storytelling and visibility about the health of Network processes, contextualizing this work in a format digestible and actionable for Accountable Executives.
- Identify and resolve gaps, risks, and inconsistencies in processes.
- Advise and consult with Business Partners to develop and implement process excellence across the Network L2s, highlighting and communicating areas of risk exposure to leadership.
- Analyze existing workflows to identify inefficiencies; lead process improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma) to optimize the speed and quality of risk deliverables.
- Manage, implement, and deliver key program deliverables and horizontal processes, coordinating across Business, Product, Legal, and Compliance teams.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
- At least 3 years of Financial Services Risk Management Experience (specifically within Payments, Banking, or Fintech).
- At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience leading cross-functional projects and programs in Risk.
- At least 5 years of Financial Services risk management experience.
- Experience supporting payments and/or integration efforts.

Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400
- Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
