Manager, Revenue Accounting
for section headings. Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. Use
for prose.
We need to preserve all substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. Remove boilerplate: cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. So we need to strip out EEO statement, data privacy, security requirements, etc. Also remove "About Artera" mission? That's about company, maybe not needed? The instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." But we need to preserve all substantive information. The "About Artera" includes mission, culture, accolades, work authorization requirement. That's substantive but maybe not directly about the role. However it's part of posting. Should we include it? The sections we can have: About the role (maybe from "About The Opportunity"), Responsibilities, Requirements, Benefits, Pay. The "About Artera" could be considered company overview; maybe we could include as a section "About Artera" but not listed as allowed headings? The allowed headings list includes: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. It didn't list "About Artera". But we could still include it as a heading? The instruction: "use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." The e.g. suggests those are examples, not exclusive. But they say "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." Including About Artera may be extra. However we need to preserve all substantive information; if we omit About Artera, we lose mission, culture, accolades, work authorization requirement. That's substantive. Could we fold that into About the role? Possibly include a brief paragraph under About the role that includes company mission etc. But the instruction: "Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it) and do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it." So we can fold minor metadata into a short
. The mission etc might be considered minor? Not sure.
Better to include a section "About Artera" as
About Artera
with paragraphs. It's not in the list but seems acceptable as a heading. The instruction didn't forbid other headings, just gave examples. So we can include.
We must remove EEO, data privacy, security, etc.
Also remove duplicated lines: "Our award-winning culture: Our award-winning culture:" duplicate.
We need to preserve all substantive info: mission, what we deliver, accolades, work authorization requirement, about the opportunity, responsibilities, requirements, benefits, pay (compensation), location approach maybe? The location info under "OUR APPROACH TO WORK LOCATION" is about where role based. That's substantive. Could be part of "About the role" or separate "Location". Not in list but could be included as a short paragraph.
We also have "WORKING AT ARTERA" benefits already captured.
We need to output only HTML fragment.
Let's craft:

About the role
Artera is seeking an experienced Manager, Revenue Accounting to own end-to-end revenue recognition across our SaaS subscriptions, usage-based billing, and professional services — and to be the subject matter expert on ASC 606 as we scale. This is also a frontier finance role. You'll partner with our AI Builder teams to put agentic AI to work inside the revenue function itself, automating invoicing, reconciliations, and rev-rec workflows that traditionally lived in spreadsheets. We're not looking for someone to "use AI on the side"; we're looking for someone who wants to redesign how revenue accounting is done.
Responsibilities
- Revenue Recognition Ownership: Own the revenue recognition schedule across SaaS subscriptions, usage-based fees, and professional services, ensuring full ASC 606 compliance
- Contract Analysis: Review customer contracts to determine treatment for multiple performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, and renewals across complex arrangements (multi-product deals, pilots, expansions)
- Agentic AI in Finance: Design and implement agentic AI solutions (e.g., Claude Code) to automate invoicing, reconciliations, and revenue recognition workflows — improving accuracy, scalability, and close speed
- Billing & Deferred Revenue: Oversee NetSuite invoicing for recurring and usage-based billing; maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules and contract liabilities for multi-year agreements
- Close & Reporting: Execute month-end close for revenue accounts, prepare reconciliations and journal entries, and deliver trend, cohort, and variance commentary for executive and board reporting
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the technical accounting point of contact for Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, and FP&A; partner on SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, NDR, bookings-to-revenue)
- Policy & Controls: Develop ASC 606 policies and SOX-compliant documentation for revenue, billing, and order-to-cash; serve as primary liaison to external auditors on revenue matters
- Systems & Automation: Collaborate with IT, RevOps, and Engineering on NetSuite enhancements, billing system integrations, and revenue recognition automation as Artera scales
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Accounting Tenure: 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience with substantial focus on revenue recognition in a SaaS, software, or technology environment
- ASC 606 Expertise: Deep working knowledge of ASC 606 as applied to SaaS and subscription models, including multi-element contracts, variable consideration, modifications, and renewals
- GAAP & Reporting: Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Agentic AI Fluency: Demonstrable ability to leverage agentic AI tools (such as Claude Code) to automate accounting and revenue workflows — specifically invoicing and revenue recognition
- Systems Depth: Hands-on experience with NetSuite (or comparable cloud ERP) and Salesforce, including revenue management workflows
- Industry Background: Prior experience in high-growth SaaS, healthcare technology, or B2B software
- Analytical Toolkit: Advanced Excel and Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Bonus CPA + Big 4: Active CPA in good standing, with Big 4 or national public accounting experience covering SaaS, software, or healthcare tech clients
- Healthcare Tech Exposure: Digital health background with HIPAA familiarity and understanding of EMR/EHR integration and healthcare buyer dynamics
- Public + Private Mix: Combination of public and private accounting experience — technical rigor paired with operational pragmatism
- Rev-Rec Tooling: Experience with RevPro, Zuora Revenue, Certinia, or similar revenue recognition platforms
- Scale Stage Experience: Supported a company through rapid growth, venture financing, or IPO/public-company readiness; familiarity with SaaS unit economics (ARR, NDR, CAC payback, LTV) and quote-to-cash
Benefits
- Full health benefits (medical, dental, and vision), flexible spending accounts, company paid life insurance, company paid short-term & long-term disability, company equity, voluntary benefits, 401(k) and more!
- Career development - Manager development resources, employee development funds
- Generous time off - Company holidays, Winter & Summer break, and flexible time off
- Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) - We believe that everyone should belong at their workplace. Our ERGs are available for identifying employees or allies to join.
