This role plays a pivotal part in managing and overseeing the Company's Qualified and Non-Qualified Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans, including pension plans, 401(k) plans, post-retirement medical plans, and future acquisition retirement plans. As a subject matter expert, the Manager ensures compliance, drives operational excellence, and leads complex vendor system implementations.

Responsibilities

Ensure the effective management and compliance of Disney's retirement programs. This role requires a skilled and experienced professional who can lead, mentor, and solve complex problems while fostering collaboration and innovation.

  • Oversee day-to-day management of Qualified and Non-Qualified Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans, including pension plans, 401(k) plans, and post-retirement medical plans.
  • Provide project management and technical oversight for plan mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and design changes – including those caused by changes to federal, state or local regulations, Company match, investment funds, and other Plan features.
  • Support annual ERISA audits, Sarbanes Oxley control reviews, compliance filings, DOL/IRS notices, plan document amendments & review, summary plan description revisions/updates, and other compliance communication activities and nondiscrimination testing.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Retirement Programs by making recommendations regarding process improvements, design simplifications, labor support, and communication enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate retirement plan services and programs with other retirement and health & wellness programs from a plan administration perspective.
  • Manage internal and external systems and resources, including SAP payroll, HRIS, and vendor systems, to achieve program objectives.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with team members to support their career aspirations and connect their motivations to the team's work, including continuous coaching and feedback to fuel high performance.
  • Create an environment where Disney values are experienced, encouraging creative problem-solving and ensuring everyone's voice is heard.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in retirement programs and benefits administration.
  • Expertise in retirement plan administration, including Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data reconciliation and compliance.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment; results/action oriented.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and implementing benefit administration systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and functions.
  • Expert in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access); proficient in extractions from Enterprise Resource Planning systems and data warehouses, including SAP, COGNOS, and Workday.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field.

Pay

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $126,800.00 to $154,800.00 per year and in Celebration, FL is $120,700.00 to $147,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
