About the role
We are looking for a Manager Region Health & Safety to support the Western US Territory (WA, OR, CA, ID, UT, NV). This position is remote when not traveling to our facilities, with travel expected to be at least 50% of the time. The ideal candidate will be based within the Western Territory they are supporting.
The Manager Region Health & Safety leads, executes, and ensures Health & Safety and compliance objectives are met for assigned Region(s) and/or Business Unit(s). This role provides resources, tools, guidance, and support to enable branch personnel to understand and achieve health and safety goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and create regional momentum for safety initiatives and advise leaders and employees to prioritize risk reduction and compliance with Rexel USA procedures and guidelines.
- Provide guidance and implementation of programs and practices that maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and relevant state/local regulations to reduce regulatory exposure.
- Deliver consistent, effective Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems and processes across branches to reduce incidents and support operational needs.
- Support employees and management in ensuring competency in and completion of safety-critical tasks and training, including Powered Industrial Truck, Ergonomics, behavior-based safety, injury reporting, and other required training.
- Reduce frequency and severity of incidents by conducting timely and thorough incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
- Use data analysis and statistics to inform decisions and demonstrate measurable EHS performance improvements, including leading and lagging EHS KPIs.
- Ensure EHS systems, software, and programs are used to record, understand, and improve EHS performance and manage relationships with customers (e.g., ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce).
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to integrate EHS into other business functions (Operations, HR, Legal, Transportation) and drive a safety culture change.
- Verify compliance with Rexel USA and regulatory requirements by conducting targeted branch assessments to instruct, enable, and verify alignment with requirements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to assigned regional Health & Safety resources to enable attainment of Health & Safety goals and metrics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Health & Safety management with a Bachelor’s degree, or 10+ years of experience in Health & Safety management without a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working for a large multi-site employer (dispersed workforce business is a plus).
- Experience developing and managing health and safety programs.
- High School diploma or GED (required). Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (preferred).
