Manager, Record to Report - Walmart Manufacturing - Cost Accountant
About the team
Walmart US Manufacturing operates five plants, including case-ready beef, with a focus on efficient financial management and operational excellence. The position supports the beef sourcing for the Thomasville and Olathe locations by overseeing costing processes, month-end closing, and financial statement analysis. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, the team ensures accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in financial reporting and risk management. Utilizing advanced accounting standards and data management practices, the team drives effective decision-making and operational efficiency to support Walmart’s business goals and maintain high standards of governance and control.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Reconcile complex accounts involving data from multiple systems to maintain data integrity.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including cash flow, balance sheet, and profit and loss reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align financial planning, forecasting, and risk management strategies.
- Identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and implement internal controls.
- Manage financial data and metadata to support accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and ensure seamless financial operations.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in financial statement analysis, including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow correlations.
- Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and reconciliation of complex accounts.
- Experience with GAAP standards, advanced accounting methods, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively across functions.
- Proficiency in forecasting, budgeting, and cost accounting techniques.
- Skilled in identifying process improvements and implementing controls for operational excellence.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and internal control assessments.
- Competence in data management and leveraging technology to enhance financial reporting accuracy.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
