Manager, Project Management

About the Role

Within this growing team, you will serve as the primary liaison to stakeholders throughout a project lifecycle, ensuring every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to scope.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison to business customers and provide recommendations for improved system processes.
• Develop deliverables related to project initiation, including feasibility studies, risk assessment, project initiation reports, staffing, project organization outline, and standards and control procedures.
• Develop good working relationships with the local customer plant and project leader; ensure excellent two-way communication.
• Monitor project progress, deliverables, quality assurance, and customer service.
• Adjust resources as necessary to ensure project success and completion.
• Provide work direction and feedback to all team members and assist them in issue resolution.
• Develop new processes to ensure mission-critical systems are completed; provide expertise in identifying appropriate methodologies for large-scale projects.
• Prepare and deliver formal presentations to colleagues and management.
• Share “best practices” for account management, staff development, and technical expertise.
• Develop, maintain, and follow a detailed Launch Plan based on the syncreon Launch Process Template, focusing on:
  • Daily follow-up with customers (e.g., Plan for Every Part, Milestones, Ramp-Up plans, Scope of Work).
  • Daily follow-up with internal project team members.
  • Discuss project exceptions/issues from each project discipline.
  • Ensure communication and dynamics within the project team support project success.
• Ensure external suppliers of equipment or services are sourced appropriately.
• Maintain, update, and distribute weekly or bi-weekly Flash Reports for Steering Committee review to reflect the project’s status honestly.
• Review, communicate, and escalate critical project issues with the VP of Project Management and Steering Committee in a timely manner.
• Schedule and facilitate project meetings to ensure all aspects of the project are dealt with professionally and efficiently.
• Develop a Project Evidence Binder in line with documented syncreon expectations and QS Standards, managed throughout the project on the Portal Server.
• Manage Project Budgets (Resources & CAPEX); escalate any risks to the VP of Project Management or Steering Committee for alternative plans or justified approvals.
• Provide leadership, support, and training to project team members and new operational staff.
• Manage the handover process to Operations (Plant Manager sign-off) at a time jointly determined by Business Development and Operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred); experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in Project Management within an automotive and/or logistics environment. Operational experience is also preferred.
• Detail-oriented, thorough, reliable, and responsible in completing work tasks.
• Strong analytical skills to address work-related issues and problems.
• Ability to accept criticism, handle high-stress situations calmly, and take on responsibilities and challenges.
• Openness to change, adaptability to variety in the workplace, and persistence in the face of obstacles.
