Manager, Project Accounting

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the monthly project accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of project costs, revenue recognition, accruals, and reconciliations while coordinating with operational and finance teams to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Identification and implementation of improvements to project accounting procedures, financial controls, and financial reporting processes by driving best practices, supporting ERP system enhancements, and leading process automation initiatives.
  • Ensuring accurate revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and company policies while maintaining compliance with audit requirements.
  • Monitoring project performance, including revenue, costs, gross margin, cash flow, and forecasted profitability.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing Project Accountants by establishing performance goals, fostering accountability and collaboration, driving continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Supporting project teams and project accountants with financial guidance and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, CMA or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years progressive accounting or finance experience with 7+ years supervisory or management experience
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in project accounting, particularly in the area of revenue recognition
  • Proven and demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects and deadlines
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently

Pay

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
