About the role
Supermicro is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Manager, Components. As the market leader in professional server solutions, Supermicro is looking to hire someone who is passionate about managing the supply chain of one of the most critical server components. This is a fast-moving industry. Successful candidates will be able to move and adapt quickly to changing needs and manage multiple initiatives with internal and external stakeholders. If you are dedicated, detail- and result-oriented, with great leadership skills, this could be the perfect role for you.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 3-5 direct reports and drive coordinated effort across 2 other global geo-sites.
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies with assigned vendors to support company product lines and meet revenue targets.
- Review and determine inventory level, based on Program Management Team’s build plan, consumption data and product trends, to ensure optimal inventory mix and level for stock on hand as well as forecast and allocations with suppliers.
- Initiate and drive NPI process to timely SKU up new products, by monitoring supplier product roadmaps and closely working with Product Development and Management Teams.
- Work with Cost Team to help determine general and deal-specific pricing strategies.
- Work as an individual contributor to manage all supply-chain aspects of assigned SKUs.
- Other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field is a must; MBA or relevant advanced degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of supply chain and product management experience in server hardware industry is preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of server key components, especially CPU, is a plus.
- Strong communication, analytical and project management skills – To collaborate with external partners and internal cross-functional teams – Sales, Engineering and Operations – to drive and deliver results.
Qualifications
- $120,000 - $147,000 salary range.
- The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.

- Candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
