Salary Range: $87,000 to $163,000. This position is eligible for the annual performance bonus plan. Final determination of starting pay will vary based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

The Modular team at CEI develops factory-built and tested data center infrastructure products. These solutions bring deployments online faster, more reliably, and with less risk than conventional methods.

About the Role

The Preconstruction Manager (PCM) will lead project management during the preconstruction phase of projects. Responsibilities include managing RFPs, estimates, procurement, deliverables, and client relations alongside the project management team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide conceptual budgeting and tools to facilitate accurate and efficient project qualification.
  • Coordinate the estimating effort on bids, including front-end document review.
  • Organize and lead bid reviews.
  • Perform estimating as needed to meet deadlines, including management of estimators.
  • Review and implement the technical strategy for proposals with Project Management and Production teams.
  • Coordinate with Product Development on proposal documents.
  • Handle client correspondence and represent the budget approach in project interviews.
  • Delegate tasks to supporting team members and train/mentor them.
  • Review deliverables for accuracy and lead estimate reviews.
  • Facilitate the turnover of projects and all project documents to the Project Management team.
  • Create and maintain estimating analytics.
  • Work closely with CEI division directors to implement and improve workflow processes.
  • Map out processes and maintain up-to-date workflow diagrams.
  • Drive results to meet annual strategic goals set with division directors.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support projects or department objectives.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in estimating and understanding of project budgeting.
  • Proficiency in Accubid, PlanGrid, Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience in management of design-build projects.
  • Verifiable experience of safe, reliable, and integrity-driven work habits, including working in an unsupervised field setting when appropriate.
  • A balance of technical knowledge and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and train others.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and communicate confidently in project interviews.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications, is qualifying.

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications: None required.
  • Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience as a project manager for an electrical contractor.
