General Summary
The Manager on Duty (MOD) oversees the Sports Desk and Valet (if applicable) departments to ensure high levels of customer service. They provide leadership through daily coaching, support, recognition, and training, acting as a role model for desired behaviors and attitudes.
About the Role
This role requires supervision and management of the Sports Desk and Valet teams, ensuring efficient and exceptional service. The MOD also manages supply inventory and maintains a safe, clean, and organized facility.
Responsibilities
- Hires, trains, supervises, and develops staff in accordance with company policies and directives
- Maintains uniform adherence of all staff
- Daily walk-throughs of departments to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety
- Manages Sports Desk and Valet operations for efficiency and service excellence
- Oversees supply inventory through monthly audits and loss control measures
- Ensures day-to-day operations are run safely, smoothly, and efficiently
- Communicates effectively with senior management, managers, members, guests, and vendors
- Promotes harmonious relations among members, staff, and the community
- Participates in required events, programs, meetings, and trainings
- Represents the club in a professional manner
- Acts as club Manager on Duty as required
Qualifications
- At least 2 years’ experience in personnel supervision, training, and evaluation (in customer service field preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in problem identification, analysis, and solution development
- Knowledge of company policies, federal, state, and local laws, and government regulations
- Skills in management of personnel resources, sales and marketing, and problem anticipation/deductive reasoning
- Written and oral communication abilities
- Computer skills, including MS Office programs and club management software

Other Job Functions
- Flexibility in work schedule, including day and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Act as club Manager on Duty as required
Experience & Education
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in personnel supervision, training, and evaluation (in customer service field preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in problem identification, analysis, and solution development
Physical Requirements
- Sitting and standing as needed
- Occasional physical exertion such as bending, twisting, stooping, and using hands and fingers
