Manager of Student Engagement & Orientation
About the role
The Manager of Student Engagement and Orientation creates and provides educational, social, and leadership development programs and experiences that enhance student learning, foster a sense of belonging, and promote engagement across the Mount Aloysius College community.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement student programs and initiatives promoting belonging, intercultural awareness, and appreciation for diverse perspectives in alignment with the College's Mercy values and mission.
- Collaborate with campus partners to coordinate orientation experiences for new students and families, including summer, fall, and spring programs.
- Assist with the oversight of student clubs and organizations, advise student leadership groups, and collaborate across the College to create meaningful experiences contributing to student success and the mission of Mount Aloysius College.
- Provide co-advising support for the Student Government Association (SGA).
- Oversee the Cosgrave Student Center, including student staffing for the Student Affairs Division.
- Supervise a departmental Graduate Assistant, various Student Workers, and Orientation Leaders.
- Manage department budget/s and resources responsibly, coordinate event logistics, and oversee service agreements consistent with College policies and procedures.
- Audit and assess the effectiveness of student programs and initiatives, and utilize assessment data and student feedback to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Prepare reports and present project updates as requested by the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education or related field preferred; BA/BS required.
- Experience in extracurricular and leadership activities at the undergraduate level required.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, as evening and weekend work is required.

- Passionate about student engagement and leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and the external community.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent small group presentation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, maintain attention to detail, and excel in a fast-paced, high volume office.
- Independent thinking and the ability to foresee risks and anticipate needs.
- High degree of professionalism and a demonstrated ability to maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality.
Skills
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Pay
