Manager of Respiratory Therapy

Description

This position has 24-hour responsibility for daily operations, including staffing, staff development (licensure, competency, orientation, etc.), communication, supplies, patient assignment, student rotations, department standards of care, and procedures. Enforces billing and documentation standards. Keeps the director and medical director informed and involved as appropriate. Provides direct patient care for patients from neonate through geriatric as necessary and delivers appropriate educational opportunities as required for the department.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Must have and maintain a Respiratory Care Practitioner License from the State of Georgia. It is the individual’s responsibility to meet all educational, ethical, and moral qualifications necessary to maintain a license in good standing.
• Membership in a professional organization preferred.
• Must maintain BLS, ACLS, and neonatal certifications.

Education

• Must be a graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist via the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Therapist.
• Management experience preferred.

• Must be able to develop and implement a consistent program for quality assurance.
• Must be able to communicate and address concerns in a suitable manner.
• Must interact effectively with physicians, patients, family, respiratory staff, and ancillary staff.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors, physicians, employees, and other departments.
• Deals with patients and staff in a caring, professional manner and encourages the same attitudes in subordinates.

Day Shift (Full time, 24-hour responsibility for daily operations).
