Responsibilities

  • Administers program oversight by directing and overseeing the implementation and management of network engineering programs;
  • Ensures alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develops and executes strategic plans for assigned engineering initiatives, including resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in network engineering; provides guidance and support to staff on complex technical issues and best practices.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify requirements, address concerns, and ensure successful program delivery.
  • Establishes and monitors performance metrics for network engineering programs to assess effectiveness and drives continuous improvement.
  • Safeguards compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and organizational policies; conducts regular audits and assessments.
  • Identifies potential risks associated with assigned network engineering projects and develops mitigation strategies to minimize impact on organizational operations.
  • Manages the budget for network engineering programs, tracks expenditures, and ensures cost-effective use of resources.
  • Presents regular reports on program status, challenges, and accomplishments to senior management and stakeholders; maintains comprehensive documentation of program activities.
  • Travels to work sites to ensure proper functionality of engineering infrastructure, hardware, and/or equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, electrical or electronics engineering, cyber security, or a related field.
  • Experience: The equivalent of five (5) years of full-time professional computer systems engineering project experience, which must have included at least two (2) years of experience administering a function in an expert-level role or higher.

  • Advancements in network engineering technologies, tools, and software that impact project design and implementation.
  • Risk assessment and management practices applicable to network engineering projects to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Systems engineering principles, including integration, testing, and validation of engineering systems.
  • Quality control processes and methodologies to ensure engineering outputs meet required standards and specifications.
  • Cost estimation techniques and budget management practices in engineering projects.
  • Sustainable engineering practices and principles, including environmental impact assessments and green engineering.
  • Techical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and regulatory submissions.
