About the role

As manager of the Medical Staff Services, this position provides coordination of the many aspects of the department and its functions to screen and regains new members, reappoints medical staff and establishes privileges. The position provides administrative support to the Chief of Staff and other Medical Staff Officers. This position also collaborates with the Department of Performance Improvement to ensure proper coordination of the peer review process. The manager is responsible for the integrity of medical staff files and ensures that the operations of the office is in compliance of and all regulatory and/or governing standards.

Responsibilities

• Screen and regain new members of the medical staff
• Reappoint medical staff and establish privileges
• Provide administrative support to the Chief of Staff and other Medical Staff Officers
• Collaborate with the Department of Performance Improvement to coordinate the peer review process
• Maintain the integrity of medical staff files
• Ensure operations comply with all regulatory and/or governing standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration preferred
• Understanding of TJC standards and other regulatory bodies as they relate to medical staff services
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work and communicate with physicians and high-level leadership
• Ability to respond to urgent situations
• Ability to work independently and with self-motivation
• Ability to work well with others, prioritize, organize, and manage staff, budgets, and events
• Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Provider Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) within two years of hire
• Minimum of 5 years of required experience

Pay

Estimated salary range: $67,811.64 – $88,155.13 per year, depending on experience.
