About the Role
The Manager of Legal Recruiting is responsible for partnering with the Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting to manage the legal recruiting team and the full recruitment cycle to attract, hire, and retain top entry-level legal talent for the Boston office. This includes managing all aspects of recruiting and hiring entry-level lawyers, the summer associate program, and law school partnerships. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting and works closely with firm-wide and local office hiring partners. It requires people-management focus, process improvement, and collaboration with attorneys and administrative departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage the on-campus recruiting process, including organizing on-campus interview (OCI) materials and logistics, scheduling callback interviews, organizing agenda materials for local office hiring partner meetings, updating the legal recruiting database, and coordinating candidate communications regarding employment status.
- Organize and manage law school outreach initiatives, including attending recruiting receptions to market the firm, networking with career services personnel and faculty to raise the firm’s profile.
- Manage and execute the Boston office summer associate program, serving as the main point of contact for summer associates, organizing social events, tracking and assigning work, and preparing materials for mid-summer and end-of-summer reviews.
- Collaborate with Legal Recruiting Managers and Senior Managers in other regions to synchronize a cohesive approach on all initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of talent, facilitating connections between law students and attorneys.
- Execute the marketing strategy for recruiting efforts, ensuring effective communication with internal and external clients.
- Benchmark, design, administer, and maintain recruiting policies, operational procedures, and practices aligned with firm goals.
- Manage members of the Boston recruiting team, fostering teamwork, unity, and productivity to meet firm expectations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Lateral Recruiting on lateral associate recruitment and onboarding as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Legal Talent.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of work experience at a mid-sized or large law firm, career services office, or other professional services industry preferred.
- Prior people management experience.
- Ability to work with attorneys and support team members at all levels, influencing firm expectations in recruiting and attorney development.
- Flexibility to respond quickly and prioritize shifting demands.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team.
- Team-oriented with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience working in a multi-office and culturally diverse environment.
- Proactive in learning and adapting to new systems and processes.
- Strategic and creative thinking skills with strong relationship-building abilities.
- Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Pay
The anticipated pay range for this role is $134,700 - $205,450 for the Boston location, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate will be determined based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, external market data, and internal equity considerations.
Schedule
This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for business continuity, professional development, and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
