Key Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and advise on local, state, federal, and Canadian consumer finance laws and regulations.
- Support the design, review, and implementation of financial products, disclosures, policies, and operational practices.
- Aid with regulatory examinations, audits, and responses to inquiries from state agencies and other regulators.
- Collaborate with business teams across Operations, Information Technology, Audit, Accounting, Product Development, Training, Collections, and Marketing to provide practical legal guidance.
- Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable recommendations for business leaders.
- Identify legal and compliance risks and support the development of sound, business-oriented solutions.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (preference given to candidates licensed to practice law in Alabama, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Wisconsin).
- The ability to obtain or maintain a bar license or in-house registration in the state of Kansas.
- Ability to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and respond effectively under short timeframes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with legal and business teams.
- Interest in consumer finance, regulatory law, and in-house practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- One to five years of relevant legal experience.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Pay
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Remote or hybrid work may be possible; however, preference will be given to local candidates.
