About the role
The Flight Scheduling Manager oversees daily scheduling operations for student activities, including flights, simulators, and oral exams. This role provides detailed operational data and analytical support to key departmental leaders.
Responsibilities
- Supervise geographically dispersed site leaders responsible for daily scheduling operations, including schedules, checkrides, aircraft, simulators, and instructors
- Maintain and record student availability, both within and outside assigned flight blocks, including ground sessions
- Track instructor availability and unavailability within and outside scheduled work shifts
- Allocate daily flight resources to support operational needs
- Prepare and deliver periodic reports to the Department Chair
- Generate recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reports on aircraft, simulator, and instructor utilization
- Conduct ad hoc analysis of resource constraints and surpluses (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually) to support budgeting, student retention initiatives, and institutional audits/requirements
- Manage flight system data, including synchronization and validation
- Serve as a liaison between flight scheduling and other departments
- Recruit and hire staff to support a seven-day operation
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree required, 3–5 years of relevant work experience, strong management, organizational, public relations, technical, and problem-solving skills, demonstrated analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of information systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and general internet applications
