About the role
The Manager of Enterprise Data Solutions is responsible for developing and executing the credit union's enterprise data strategy, ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with business initiatives. They also lead the product owner of the enterprise data platform, prioritizing and delivering solutions that drive measurable business value, improve operational efficiency, and support informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes a forward-looking technology strategy for enterprise data, including data warehousing, integration, and emerging capabilities.
- Defines and evolves the architecture of the enterprise data platform to support scalability, self-service analytics, and advanced data use cases.
- Evaluates and prioritizes technology investments based on platform strategy and business value.
- Leverages AI and other automation tools to accelerate platform development, improve operational consistency, and keep enterprise data capabilities current.
- Owns the enterprise data platform roadmap, aligning capabilities to organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Prioritizes and delivers high-value data use cases by partnering with business leaders.
- Maintains and prioritizes a centralized product backlog of data initiatives, balancing strategic investments with operational needs.
- Establishes and tracks success metrics such as adoption, usage, data availability, and business impact.
- Learns and implements governance over intake, prioritization, and delivery to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Learns and acts as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure clarity of requirements and expected outcomes.
- Establishes and enforces enterprise data governance practices to ensure integrity, security, and compliance.
- Ensures data is reliable, accurate, and trusted for reporting and decision-making.
- Partners with business units to define data ownership and stewardship responsibilities.
- Implements controls and monitoring processes to continuously improve data quality and trust.
- Works closely with senior leadership to align data strategy with enterprise goals and priorities.
- Translates business strategy into a prioritized enterprise data platform roadmap and actionable delivery plans.
- Ensures data investments are aligned to measurable outcomes including operational efficiency, risk management, and member experience.
- Optimizes data processes and workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Implements automation and repeatable processes to reduce manual effort and increase consistency.
- Establishes structured intake, prioritization, and delivery processes for data requests.
- Introduces delivery frameworks to accelerate time-to-value and improve execution discipline.
- Collaborates with IT and business units to integrate data solutions across the organization.
- Promotes a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Drives ongoing adoption and effective use of the enterprise data platform.
- Encourages continuous improvement in data capabilities, processes, and outcomes.
- Promotes collaboration with stakeholders to expand use cases and maximize value delivered from data investments.
- Manages team to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of Advia, including monitoring performance, coaching, mentoring, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, service standards, policies, and work guidelines.
- Appraises performance and provides recommendations for promotion, disciplinary action, and termination, as appropriate.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in data, analytics, or technology functions, preferably in the financial industry.
- Experience leading enterprise data platforms, data warehouse initiatives, or analytics transformation efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with execution and delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, with advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- A significant level of trust, credibility, and diplomacy is required.
