About the Role

The Manager - Network Security is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise network security infrastructure. This role leads the protection of organizational systems, networks, and data against evolving threats while ensuring high availability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This position partners closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Application, Security Operations, Compliance, and Business teams to establish secure architecture, enforce security standards, and drive strategic initiatives that align with organizational risk tolerance and business objectives. This position requires reporting to the Somerset, NJ office location on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network security engineers.
  • Define and execute the enterprise network security strategy and multi-year roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain security standards, policies, procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Manage security initiatives, including project delivery, budgets, vendors, and managed service providers.
  • Partner with leadership to assess risk, report on security posture, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Design and maintain secure network architectures for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Implement and support security technologies, including:
    • Next-generation firewalls (NGFW)
    • Secure web gateways and proxy services
    • DDoS protection solutions
    • Network Access Control (NAC)
    • SIEM integrations and security telemetry
    • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and identity-aware security controls
  • Support cloud security initiatives across Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Support regulatory and compliance initiatives, including:
    • GDPR
    • HIPAA
    • SOX
    • PCI-DSS
    • NIST
    • ISO 27001
  • Conduct security assessments, audits, architecture reviews, and vulnerability management activities.
  • Ensure security documentation, standards, and operational playbooks remain accurate and up to date.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security Operations Center (SOC), Cloud, and Application teams to ensure secure system design and deployment.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners on security services and technologies.
  • Support security awareness and training initiatives across the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in network security and enterprise infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Ability to travel 20%.

Skills

  • Expertise in enterprise network security architecture and engineering.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise firewall technologies, including Palo Alto and Cisco platforms.
  • Experience with VPN and secure remote access technologies.
  • Knowledge of IDS/IPS platforms and network segmentation strategies.
  • Expertise in enterprise routing, switching, and networking fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, VLANs, and related networking technologies.
  • Experience with SIEM platforms, logging solutions, and security telemetry.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and security principles within Azure and AWS environments.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 security initiatives.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and incident response processes.
  • Strategic and risk-based thinking skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Incident and crisis management capabilities.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation expertise.
  • Vendor and managed service provider management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCNP, Security+, PCNSE, CEH.
  • Zero Trust architecture and implementation experience.
  • Experience with SASE and SSE technologies.
  • Automation and scripting experience using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with SD-WAN security design and operations.
  • Regulatory compliance and audit support experience.

Pay

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000, which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
