About the role

The National Safety Manager at Veho is responsible for creating, implementing, leading, and managing Veho's safety/security program. This role involves creating and enforcing safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, conducting safety meetings, audits, and inspections, and overseeing injury prevention plans and workers' compensation claims.

Responsibilities

  • Create, build, implement, and hold teams accountable to safety initiatives, both existing and new.
  • Assist, plan, and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
  • Support new business initiatives, facilities, and clients by providing safety advice and guidance.
  • Lead Veho's Injury and Incident Prevention Plan (IIPP) and manage all injuries within the warehouse.
  • Oversight of operational near misses with a safety impact, leading through the corrective action process.
  • Owner of Workers Compensation Claims (WC), working closely with WC adjusters, providers, and brokers.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive weather notification framework to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee physical security infrastructure, including access control, CCTV, and mobile storage.
  • Create and enforce safety programs covering recognition, training, standard operating procedures, employee engagement, ergonomics, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct investigations on risk, theft, property damage, integrity, and business disruptions.
  • Lead the Power Industrial Truck (PIT) program, including training, certification, de-certification, and accident management.
  • Create and enforce vendor/visitor rules and regulations for all non-Veho guests.
  • Collaborate with temp agencies to proactively train temporary employees, hold them accountable to Veho's Safety Accountability Guidelines, and address reported injuries.
  • Embrace AI as a tool to enhance safety protocols and decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in multi-site safety, security, and asset protection roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal safety and security laws and regulations.
  • Excellent relationship-building and cross-functional partnership skills.
  • A high sense of urgency and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently with a high degree of autonomy in an ambiguous environment.
  • Skills in metric tracking, data analytics, and strategic planning.
  • A self-motivated, growth-oriented mindset with the willingness to adapt and learn quickly.
  • Experience coaching peers, leaders, and business partners, sharing feedback, and recognizing achievements.

Qualifications

  • On-site in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for the business.
