Manager Medical Social Work Services

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, oversight and direction of the daily care management operations, including high quality, cost effective delivery of patient care, managing licensed clinical personnel, delegating as appropriate, organizing and setting protocols and educating staff at multiple locations.
- Recruits, selects, retains, coaches, mentors and counsels personnel.
- Facilitates inter-departmental relationships so that mission, vision and goals of the department and organization are achieved.
- Understands payor methodology and implications with a high degree of knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial and other lines of business. Has responsibility and accountability for quality and performance outcomes. Assures compliance with Joint Commission accreditation standards at all times.
- Participates, develops and submits budget to Leader for final approval. Educates team members on financial implications of operations. Manages within authorized budget and maintains ongoing process of identifying, evaluating and implementing overall cost effectiveness of the department.
- Minimum two (2) years of management experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of social worker experience to include direct social work experience in health care.
- Masters degree in social work.
- CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers required at hire OR Basic Life Support required at hire
- Licensed Social Worker (Hawaii) required at hire
- Working knowledge of state and federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid, edquest, Medicare) and application processes of each.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and present management reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, change management, conflict resolution, decision making, customer service, influence, interpersonal relations, oral communication, negotiations, problem solving, results orientation, teamwork, team building, written communication.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in the following PC applications: word processing, spreadsheet, and database
- Case management experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop community programs and partner with community agencies.
- Case Management Certification: Work towards CCM attainment is an expectation of the position. CCM certification date to obtain to be determined by manager upon hire/transfer.
