Responsibilities
- Develops, streamlines, and implements docketing process improvement strategies using data-driven analysis, documented workflows, and best practices to promote consistency and scalability.
- Guides the execution of litigation docketing procedures, ensuring adoption through cross training, communication, and ongoing reinforcement.
- Provides day-to-day supervision of and guidance to Litigation Docket Analysts and Coordinators, including evaluation, regular mentoring, feedback, and goal setting.
- In collaboration with the DOO, develops, monitors, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to accuracy, timeliness, workload distribution, and service quality for the Litigation docketing team.
- Analyzes training needs and provides recommendations to the DOO concerning ongoing department training initiatives, including curriculum development, onboarding enhancements and targeted skill-building.
- Ensures that Litigation Docket Analysts and Coordinators have access to training and tools necessary to ensure accuracy of docketed data, and for assessing the effectiveness of such training through quality and performance metrics.
- Performs regular audits of data in the docketing database with a focus on clearing outdated records and developing standard and customized reports that deliver valuable information to Department and practice group leadership.
- Communicates and coordinates with the DOO and the IT department on maintenance and updates to the Litigation docketing database.
- Onboards incoming portfolios/files into the firm’s docketing database.
- Works directly with new and lateral hires to review firm docketing procedures, including post-integration review.
- Reviews closed cases to ensure significant events(s) and outcome are properly noted in the centralized docketing system.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of litigation docketing experience required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory role experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of court rules and procedures and ability to apply the information to complex questions and filings.
- Familiarity with Litigation docketing software applications (ex: CompuLaw Vision, eDockets, ProLaw, CourtAlert, Milana).
