Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with practice group leaders to assess attorney development needs and implement targeted training and career development programs
  • Design and manage practice group curricula focused on substantive legal and professional skills
  • Develop and execute experiential and technology-enabled learning initiatives
  • Monitor emerging trends (including AI) and incorporate innovative approaches into training strategies
  • Support mentoring, sponsorship, and coaching programs, including program design enhancements
  • Advise and coach attorneys on career development, performance, and advancement
  • Analyze feedback and evaluation data to identify trends and continuously improve development initiatives
  • Collaborate with Talent Development team and other stakeholders on firmwide talent development priorities and strategic initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members and contribute to overall Talent Development team success

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Experience in attorney development, legal talent management, career advising, or similar areas
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or J.D. preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of adult learning concepts and evolving legal industry trends, including technology and AI
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

Pay

The range for this position for individuals physically located in Chicago, San Diego or Washington D.C. is $135,000 – $180,000 annually (estimated based on scope and market; final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors).
