The Role

Asurion is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax team. This role will support U.S. international tax compliance and assist with the transformation of our tax processes through technology and automation.

What You’ll Do

  • Support U.S. international income tax compliance, including preparation, review, and documentation of positions related to: Subpart F income, Net CFC Tested Income (NCTI) under the GILTI regime, Foreign-Derived Intangible Income (FDII), and Foreign tax credit (FTC) calculations and limitation analyses.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of U.S. federal income tax returns and related international reporting (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 1118), as applicable.
  • Research and analyze U.S. and international tax issues and prepare clear, practical tax memoranda documenting conclusions and recommendations.
  • Monitor U.S. and international tax legislative and regulatory developments and assess impacts to the company.
  • Assist with tax planning and structuring for business initiatives, acquisitions, reorganizations, and other strategic transactions.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Accounting, and external advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting and audit-ready documentation.
  • Assist with the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and data flows.
  • Leverage and help enhance the automation platforms used by the tax team (e.g., compliance, provision, workflow, and data tools), including the practical application of analytics and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Avoid special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
  • Manage and develop members of the Philippines-based tax team, including delegating work, reviewing deliverables, and collaborating effectively across time zones to meet deadlines.

What Success Looks Like

  • In Year 1, successfully assumes ownership of key U.S. international tax compliance workstreams, with limited rework and strong audit support.
  • Becomes a trusted partner to Accounting and Finance during provision and compliance cycles.
  • Produces clear, well-documented tax analyses and memoranda that are practical and business-focused.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve or automate existing tax processes, controls, or data gathering.
  • Demonstrates strong judgment, accountability, and collaboration in a fast-moving, matrixed environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA, JD, or equivalent professional certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in U.S. international tax compliance, corporate tax, or technical tax roles.
  • Meaningful exposure to Subpart F, GILTI/NCTI calculations, FDII, and/or foreign tax credit calculations.
  • Strong tax research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with tax provision processes and financial reporting teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and comfort handling sensitive and confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Broader international tax experience supporting U.S. multinationals.
  • Previous public accounting (Big 4 or large national firm) experience.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting systems (e.g., ONESOURCE, Microsoft Dynamics, Onestream, Orbitax, or similar platforms).
  • Demonstrated interest in tax technology, automation, data management, and AI-enabled tools.
