Manager - Infusion/Oncology (RN)

About the role

The Cancer Center Manager provides leadership to the Medical and Radiation Oncology Clinics and the Infusion Center for Columbia Memorial Hospital. Plans for and develops the clinical programming of the center, assuring optimal quality care and continuity for patients and families. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day business and clinical operations, including clinical compliance and staff development. The manager works in collaboration with the CMH Director of Clinic Operations, the Director of Quality, the OHSU/CMH Collaboration Executive Committee, and the OHSU Oncology Services Leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop clinical programming to ensure optimal quality care and continuity for patients and families.
• Oversee day-to-day business and clinical operations of the Medical and Radiation Oncology Clinics and the Infusion Center.
• Manage clinical compliance and staff development initiatives.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and oncology service leaders to align operations with organizational goals.
• Apply Planetree philosophy of care to enhance care delivery and employee relations.
• Demonstrate effective visioning, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Motivate and engage teams to achieve organizational objectives.
• Manage budget and financial operations with strong customer service skills.
• Communicate effectively through public speaking, leading meetings, and written correspondence.

Requirements

• Current unencumbered Oregon and Washington Registered Nurse State license.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Bachelor’s degree in business, nursing, public health, management, or equivalent (Master’s degree preferred).
• Two or more years of experience in progressively increasing managerial/supervisory roles.
• Managerial experience in hospital, medical group, or clinical settings preferred.
• Ambulatory care and oncology patient population experience preferred.
• Familiarity with managing nursing staff is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Works primarily indoors with desk or computer work.
• Frequent walking and standing during shifts, which may be long.
• Occasional lifting and transferring of patients.
• Subject to physical and emotional stress in a fast-paced environment.
• Pushes/pulls loaded stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts, and equipment carts.
• Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs, and assists with ambulation as needed.
• Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
