Manager In Training (Part Time)

About the Role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties, ensuring the store’s goals and initiatives are met. They are knowledgeable in all product areas, uphold company policies, and promote sales and customer satisfaction. In the Store Manager’s absence, the Manager in Training assumes supervisory control and is trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets and establishing action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities (selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, scheduling).
• Assume responsibility for the entire store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are met.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Maintain quality customer service and perform general administrative duties.
• Deliver extraordinary customer service, including assisting customers during peak periods and promoting merchandise and services.
• Uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are accurate and effective.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise employees in the Store Manager’s absence, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, and resolving problems.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and align with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Team player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Pay: $10.35/hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
