About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Store Manager in asset control and departmental responsibilities.
• Develop and implement action plans to achieve store goals and initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards outlined in manuals.
• Guide employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales, and expenses to maintain profitability.
• Communicate with the Store Manager on inventory movement and customer trends.
• Promote and sell merchandise while maintaining high-quality customer service.
• Assume supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
• Train and direct employees as needed.
• Report to the Store Manager on performance and progress.

Requirements

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• One to three years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise selling.
