Manager in Training

About the role

The role is located at Gulf Coast BU, Region 08, Market 02 at 28685 N Main St, Daphne, Alabama 36526. It is a full-time position with flexible availability.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience in retail sales is preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train employees, including using equipment, tools, and materials as per the CSR and ASM job descriptions.
• Valid driver’s license and adequate transportation.
• Ability to communicate in English (oral and written).
• Perform other duties as assigned or delegated by the supervisor.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities And Skills

• Leadership and Management:
• Recruit, hire, and train employees to provide excellent customer service.
• Manage and assign tasks to ensure the site is clean, stocked, organized, and maintained according to company standards.
• Schedule employees within company guidelines to optimize customer service and maintain site image.
• Implement non-discriminatory management practices during hiring, training, counseling, motivating, and separating employees.
• Site Relationships:
• Develop positive relationships with suppliers and promote excellent service and complaint resolution.
• Promote a safe, positive public image within the community.
• Training and Development:
• Prepare and provide performance appraisals and feedback to employees.
• Train employees to meet company standards for customer service, site image, and marketing execution.
• Train employees on safety procedures and promote safety awareness.
• Communication:
• Ensure timely communication to all employees.
• Establish regular communication meetings with site employees and the Market Manager.
• Organizing and Planning:
• Evaluate and develop action plans to address site needs.
• Manage and supervise store employees to ensure accurate and timely completion of required reports and stock management.
• Ensure all required employment-related posters and signs are accessible.
• Financial:
• Analyze daily sales and expenses to maximize sales and net profits.
• Budget and forecast profit and loss statements, understand and manage merchandise margins.
• Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed.
• Perform necessary financial analysis to maximize sales and net profits.

Working Conditions

• Work primarily indoors but occasionally outdoors for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Exposed to cold temperatures while supervising outdoor tasks.
• Exposure to noise.
• Minimal supervision required.
• Effective leadership, supervision, and management skills are essential.
