Manager, Human Resource Vertical Risk Advisor
Overview
The Human Resource Vertical Risk Advisor (HR VRA) will provide guidance and advice to business partners on implementing HR risk policies and programs. The VRA will provide day-to-day risk support across all facets of the Enterprise Risk Management framework, and will also partner with second-line risk management functions, including Legal and Compliance to support business adherence with all applicable Employment and Privacy laws and ensure the Risk Management System of record, FUSE, accurately reflects process applicability and the control environment.
Ongoing Vertical Risk Advisor Support
- HR Risk Assessments of new or changing intent to ensure new intent is assessed through appropriate forums
- HR Regulatory applicability: Partner with HR, Legal and Compliance to review and update regulatory applicability
- HR Controls: Accountable for Uncovered RMAP process, identify and document appropriate controls, in the Risk Management system of record, FUSE
- HR Issues & Events: Provide support for HR Issues & Events; ensure adherence to Enterprise Risk Management standards and expectations
- HR Policies, Standards & Procedures: Support HR Policies through documentation in accordance with the Corporate Policy Office expectations and maintained in the compliance and reporting platform (Wdesk)
- Audits & Exams: Support for related audits and exams
- Regulatory Changes: Partner with HR, Legal and Compliance to assess impact of regulatory changes to both employment and privacy laws; document implementations plans, as appropriate to demonstrate compliance with requirements
- Advise on HR Functional Area documentation, Partner with HR to ensure process documentation meets enterprise requirements and is well managed
- HR Risk Assessment Support: Provide support of required Enterprise Assessments such as Process Criticality, Process Level Assessments and Risk and Control Self-Assessment
- HR Risk Management and Reporting: Support the development of risk management and reporting that drives meaningful conversations, accountability and awareness in HR
- Provide guidance and advice to business partners on implementing risk policies and programs
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 5 years of risk management experience or at least 5 years of human resource experience
- At least 2 years of process management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 6+ years of Human Resource experience
- 6+ years of experience in process management
- 3+ years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with key stakeholders or internal business partners
- 2+ years of experience influencing senior leadership
- Agile or Design Thinking experience
- Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools
- Experience in controls development, controls management, and reporting activities
Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Risk Manager
