About the role

L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty is seeking a dynamic and insights-driven Hair Category Development Manager to contribute to the development and execution of our hair care category strategy across all brands and channels.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the overall LDB Haircare category portfolio strategy, across all brands and channels.
  • Conduct regular market and category analysis, identifying key trends, growth opportunities, and potential threats, and present findings to senior management.
  • Contribute to the definition of brand-specific strategies to maximize market potential based on customer insights and market dynamics.
  • Share category insights and recommendations with the LDB Commercial and Marketing teams, contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Support the DMI, Marketing, and CMI teams with data-driven category information and trend analysis.
  • Aid in the alignment and execution of the category strategy across internal stakeholders.
  • Utilize internal and external data sources for insights, NielsenIQ, Market360, Amazon Tech/Profitero, Scintilla, Numerator, Spate, Suzy panel research, Ipsos panel research, social engagement tools, Retailer loyalty systems, bespoke shopper studies (CDJ’s, Shopper Perception, UX studies, Merchandizing Studies) and external market research (ex. Euromonitor, Kantar, Kline, Mintel).
  • Assist in implementing guidelines for the Haircare categories, including product prioritization (grow, maintain, delete) across all brands.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and selling stories across all online and offline channels, under the guidance of senior management.
  • Identify potential white space opportunities and new segments or channels for the LDB Haircare portfolio and propose recommendations.
  • Contribute to the evolution from Category Management to Category Development, focusing on long-term growth and innovation.
  • Support the development and implementation of account-specific strategies with key retailers (online and offline) to drive long-term growth within the Hair category.
  • Assist in building strong partnerships with account leadership.
  • Leverage category insights and compelling selling stories to empower account teams and brands.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Marketing, Category Management, or Sales within the beauty or consumer goods industry.
  • Experience supporting the development and execution of retailer strategies and projects.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and contribute to sales and profit optimization plans.
  • Experience within the beauty industry, ideally with some exposure to multiple categories.
  • Knowledge of shopper insights and their application to category management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present findings and contribute to action plans.
