Purpose

The Government Affairs Manager is a critical role responsible for accelerating CENTEGIX's growth by managing legislative strategies, lobbying efforts, and state-level relationships to support school safety, corrections, and municipal security. You will drive the company's mission of protecting people by establishing strategic relationships that extend the reach and capabilities of the CENTEGIX Safety Platform. This role is pivotal in expanding our footprint across healthcare, education, government, and commercial sectors, directly impacting our long-term objectives of market leadership and life-saving innovation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lobbying and legislative strategy
    • Manage all retained lobbyists and lobbying firms, working across a network of up to a dozen firms and 10 to 12 lobbyists nationally
    • Monitor, track, and report on state-by-state legislation, policy, and funding opportunities tied to school safety, state corrections, and municipal security
  • Procurement and stakeholder engagement
    • Own state and local procurement strategy, guiding opportunities through the process from identification to close
    • Engage directly with agency leaders and executives across state and university systems to build relationships that open doors for CENTEGIX
    • Manage relationships with school board members and advocacy groups, building the credibility and access that support long-term deals
  • Sales partnership
    • Meet weekly with sales reps to align legislative and procurement activity with active deals, creating fertile ground for the sales team
    • Support regional sales executives with local municipality opportunities, procurement services, and strategic relationship building
    • Represent the company at state-level industry events and meetings with key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or legislative lobbying within the public sector or B2B technology.
  • Strong understanding of the legislative process, procurement, and political landscapes.
  • Proven ability to manage external consultants and lobbying firms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience influencing stakeholders at the local and state government levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
