About the role
This is a high-visibility finance business partner role that sits at the center of a large and complex portfolio of SG&A spend. As the Manager, FP&A – SG&A Business Partner, you will own financial planning and partnership for four of Asurion's most senior stakeholder organizations — the Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and General Counsel. You will operate with autonomy, manage executive-level relationships, and own end-to-end financial processes across a portfolio that spans Asurion's commercial, operational, and corporate functions. This role demands executive presence, independent judgment, and the ability to drive meaningful financial outcomes without extensive oversight.
Responsibilities
- Business Partnership — Client, Enterprise Enablement & Back Office
- You are the primary finance partner across three distinct executive organizations — the Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and Back Office leadership (CFO and General Counsel).
- Each has its own cost structure, planning cycle, and expectations; your job is to own all three with equal depth and consistency.
- Serve as the day-to-day finance partner to each stakeholder organization, providing monthly business reviews, quarterly outlooks, and ongoing decision support.
- Lead financial planning and investment analysis across commercial spend, operational functions, and corporate cost centers.
- Partner with business leaders on resource allocation, workforce decisions, and organizational changes — bringing financial framing to decisions before they are made, not after.
- Identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio and surface them proactively to leadership ahead of planning cycles.
- Deliver executive-ready financial packages on time, every cycle, with clear narrative — outputs that require minimal revision and are used, not just received.
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting activities across the full portfolio.
- Lead budget development, variance analysis, and performance commentary for all supported functions.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and surface them proactively.
- Partner with the SG&A COE team on headcount planning, consolidated reporting inputs, and AOP submissions.
- Develop and maintain workforce planning models aligned to compensation, fringe, and organizational assumptions.
- Process & Stakeholder Excellence
- Maintain a consistent, proactive operating rhythm with each stakeholder organization — standing reviews, shared calendars, and aligned planning timelines.
- Partner with HR, Accounting, and Finance Systems as needed to maintain data quality and resolve planning issues.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives led by the COE team.
Requirements
Experience
- 5–8 years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or financial planning experience.
- Demonstrated track record of owning executive-level financial relationships independently.
- Experience supporting senior business leaders (VP+ preferred) in a finance business partner capacity.
- Background in SG&A, commercial finance, or multi-function portfolio coverage is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis capability.
- Executive communication skills — you write and present with clarity, brevity, and confidence.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across a large stakeholder portfolio without losing quality.
- Proficiency in planning systems (OneStream, Hyperion, or equivalent) and BI/reporting tools.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; familiarity with AI-enabled tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) for financial analysis.
- Deliver a high-stakes executive ask.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
- MBA or CPA viewed favorable.
