Manager, Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages

The Opportunity:

HKA is accepting inquiries from experienced professionals with relevant experience in the Commercial Damages space. The focus will be on Insurance Claims, Business Interruption, Lost Profits, Intellectual Property, Investigations, and related disputes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting fact-based investigations to test the validity of allegations using proven investigative approaches and the latest technology.
  • Creating and managing materials to support our Expert Witnesses, including Expert Reports.
  • Conduct technology-enabled analysis of data to identify anomalies, relationships, or trends using the latest analytics and visualization platforms.
  • Performing business valuations, including using and reviewing the use of relevant software tools for research and data analysis.
  • Communicating results and explaining work products as appropriate to the partner and clients.
  • Drafting sections of expert reports.
  • Managing some interactions with clients.
  • Performing business development activities and attending networking events.
  • Delivering training and developing colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Advanced degrees in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as CPA, CFE, Forensic Accountant, or similar role.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Forensic Consulting or similar Financial Consulting roles focused on the following:
    • Analyzing and calculating damages in commercial disputes
    • Insurance claims services
    • Analyzing delays, disruptions, and cost overruns due to unforeseen events
    • Forensic and investigation services
    • Experience providing Litigation Support and contributing to Expert Report writing
  • A strong technical background in Data Analysis, Data Modeling, and more. Experience with SQL preferred but not required.
