Manager, Financial & Technical Accounting

About the role

As Manager, Financial & Technical Accounting you will serve as a key financial leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s technical accounting function, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. This hands-on role requires experience in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment—ideally within consulting, professional services, or staffing—and combines deep technical accounting expertise with the ability to build scalable processes, lead global teams, and partner cross-functionally to support growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, and Stockholders’ Equity.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple global entities and quarterly bank compliance reporting.
• Manage audits and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions; maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policies.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with evolving standards and business needs.
• Lead day-to-day accounting functions: revenue recognition, lease accounting, fixed asset accounting, and consolidation of international subsidiaries (including foreign currency considerations).
• Ensure proper accounting for complex staffing revenue streams (time & materials, fixed price, direct hire) and intercompany transactions across geographies and revenue streams.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Tax, and FP&A to assess accounting implications of business initiatives.
• Partner with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders on financial reporting, performance metrics, board reporting, lender compliance, and covenant reporting.
• Support M&A activities including due diligence, integration, divestiture, and corresponding accounting treatment.
• Own the quality and integrity of supporting schedules and workpapers, ensuring they are audit-ready and executive-review level.
• Build and scale accounting processes to address rapid growth and global expansion; evaluate and implement automation tools and reporting enhancements.
• Drive continuous improvement in close cycles and reporting accuracy through AI tools and time-saving initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global accounting team; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles and international experience.
• Experience in a private equity-backed company strongly preferred.
• Background in consulting, staffing, or professional services industries highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; IFRS experience a plus.
• Technical expertise in revenue recognition, intercompany eliminations, stock compensation/equity, transfer pricing, and global consolidations in multi-entity environments.
• Proven ability to manage audits and interact with external stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and reporting capabilities on both reported and pro-forma bases (Workday Adaptive a plus).

Pay

Base compensation range: $138,000 USD – $160,000 USD. The individual may also be eligible for a variety of bonus and financial incentives based on individual and company performance.
