Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of project grants, budgets, revenue, expenditures, and contract compliance
  • Supervise a team of analysts with day to day responsibility for project grants, budgets, revenue, expenditures, and contract compliance
  • Work closely with government agencies, private funders, and other outside stakeholders
  • Provide financial review and approval of the Center’s revenue and expense contracts
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual close and identify adjusting journal entries as needed
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, expense reports, and corporate card reconciliations
  • Review and approve invoices to funders
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and facilitate the collection of payment from funders
  • Reconcile receivable accounts
  • Support the Director with financial duties and special projects as needed
  • Additional tasks as necessary

Qualifications

  • At least 5-7 years of demonstrable experience and success in nonprofit financial management required
  • At least 1-2 years of prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or other related fields strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is crucial to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Capability to work independently and prioritize tasks to ensure the timely completion of projects
  • Ability to handle sensitive information which requires maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion
  • A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset are essential to foster a collaborative work environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities are essential to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively

Position Location

Midtown Manhattan, working two days a week on-site with potential travel within the five boroughs, Newark, New Jersey and Syracuse.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $103,000 - $128,700 and is commensurate with experience.
