About the role
The Royal Caribbean Group’s Destination Development Team is seeking a full-time Infrastructure Investments Manager to support the Infrastructure Investments Director. This onsite position is based in Miami, Florida, and is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
Royal Caribbean is looking for a strategic Manager to join its Infrastructure Investment Finance Group. This group identifies and manages strategic destination and infrastructure investments worldwide, supporting our growing fleet, enhancing guest satisfaction, and generating long-term returns. The role involves overseeing Destination Development investments and managing the financial performance of the portfolio to meet approved business objectives and target financial returns.
The Manager will lead a team of infrastructure investment and asset management professionals, manage priorities across a global portfolio, oversee transactional and strategic activities for new and existing projects, and lead internal underwriting. Additionally, the role includes overseeing the planning cycle of joint venture (JV) financials in collaboration with the Infrastructure Finance team. As a key member of the Destination Development team, the Manager will help shape and execute the company’s agenda for port and destination development, including $5B in port investments in the pipeline. Responsibilities also include forming wholly owned subsidiaries and joint ventures with financial and strategic investors, regular communication with JV partners, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and ad hoc financial support.
Responsibilities
- Inspire and lead a team of infrastructure investment and asset management professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while mentoring team members for professional growth.
- Oversee modeling, deal structuring, forecasting, management reporting, valuation, and business analysis across the investment portfolio, including analysis of existing and potential new investments.
- Lead the evaluation of new initiatives to gain internal support and external partnerships, and develop strategies to structure and implement investments.
- Monitor performance of each JV entity, proactively identify opportunities, address concerns, mitigate risks, control costs, and optimize investments.
- Manage multiple projects and the JV portfolio concurrently without compromising quality, directing the work of direct reports and interfacing with business partners.
- Engage with potential investors, investment partners, bankers, consultants, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide ad hoc support, including financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and various analyses as requested.
- Manage the existing global portfolio of Infrastructure Investment Joint Ventures, reporting monthly and annual operating performance at both individual investment and portfolio levels.
- Maintain portfolio investment analysis, including updating actual activity, forecasting future performance, analyzing returns and valuations, and summarizing results.
- Communicate complex investment structures concisely, highlighting key drivers and formulating meaningful recommendations.
- Structure investments and joint ventures to meet business objectives in collaboration with Technical Accounting, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Tax, Legal, Treasury, and other RCG teams.
- Manage internal approval for selected projects by reviewing financial models, business assumptions, and project information with the Capital Committee, securing support from Capital Planning, Corporate Strategy, Treasury, and Finance.
- Lead discussions with financing sources and internal treasury to secure capital needs and debt financing for projects.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure Finance team to lead forecasting and planning processes, including Destination Development JV Portfolio Forecasting and Capex Planning Forecasting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree desirable.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 2-4 years at the management level.
- Experience in valuation and deal execution through investment banking, accounting, asset management, or real estate investments preferred.
- Strong accounting, analytical, research, and financial analysis skills.
- Strong financial acumen and knowledge of valuation methods and debt structures.
- Strong project management skills and detail-oriented organization.
- Strong background in financial statement analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
- Experience managing time-sensitive, contractual, financial, regulatory, or legal issues with direct impact on special initiatives.
- Strong financial modeling, P&L forecasting, and business plan analysis experience.
- Experience with legal contracts, including reviewing and providing feedback on complex agreements such as shareholders agreements, berthing agreements, concession agreements, and operating agreements.
- Excellent writing and presentation creation skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and peer management skills.
- Ability to prioritize deliverables and meet demanding deadlines.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and as an individual contributor.
