Duties/Responsibilities
- Cook up and coordinate with owners, project managers, and other project team members to resolve technical issues during planning and development, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Ensure proper subcontractor coverage on bid day.
- Review and assemble estimators' budgets to produce the final bid.
- Analyze and construct estimate data affecting labor, materials, equipment, location, and other factors to guarantee a high-quality and prompt estimate.
- Utilize existing cost history as a benchmark to assess alternatives and construction methods to enhance bid competitiveness.
- Employ mathematical computations to ensure estimated costs are precise.
- Analyze risks and communicate strategies to alleviate future construction obstacles.
- Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure comprehension of project scope.
- Complete a bid from start to finish with no oversight.
- Understand and comprehend the entire scope for all trades.
- Be capable of negotiating with clients.
- Train/review/mentor staff beneath them.
- Anticipate problems and provide solutions for work.
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable the estimating team to company standards, deadlines, and performance expectations.
- Establish bid review procedures and lead estimate review meetings prior to submission.
- Engage at a high level with operations regarding the project's details and the implications of operational decisions on the budget.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a construction-related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an estimator, performing responsibilities equivalent to those listed above.
- Working knowledge and comprehension of construction management.
- Effective negotiation skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
