About the role
The Manager, Engineering Systems will lead enhancements in systems, workflows, metrics, and data related to the Product Lifecycle Management system. They will also support day-to-day and long-term engineering applications and product development needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Product Development Support (PDS) and Engineering Apps Development (EAD) teams towards improved service and performance.
- Ensure teams are supporting New Product Development (NPD) needs and adaptable to changing requirements.
- Select, support, and enhance engineering applications like 3D CAD, PLM, and PPM systems.
- Maintain standards to control digital assets through engineering changes and other processes related to NPD and product data.
- Regularly collaborate with NPD and IT leaders to understand current and future support needs, ensuring Engineering Systems are properly maintained and utilized.
- Propose system upgrades to support NPD processes and stay updated with technological advancements.
- Interview, provide feedback on candidates, and onboard new hires.
- Create and deliver performance evaluations, discuss challenges and solutions with upper management, and plan for yearly budget needs.
- Plan, justify, and submit capital projects for the department; resolve user and system issues promptly; manage vendor relationships and oversee interactions.
- Facilitate processes to align technical product data and product hierarchies across multiple business systems and sites.
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks and data integrity in PLM systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required, with three (3) years of relevant experience and two (2) years of leadership experience.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle (PLM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), and Enterprise Analytics is required.
- AS400 and Agile systems experience is a plus.
- Documentation control experience is required.
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and conflict resolution skills are necessary.
- Demonstrated performance in delivering significant engineering projects and the ability to facilitate projects and solutions on time and within budget are essential.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- International travel is a requirement.
