About the Role
Lead the plant engineering, maintenance, and facilities functions with hands-on direction for CAPEX projects, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and compliance. Develop project scopes and plans, manage CAPEX and expense budgets, implement best practices for maintenance and work order systems, and partner with cross-functional teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage CAPEX investments to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality goals
- Plan, schedule, and execute engineering projects including design, vendor selection, FAT, installation, qualification, and commissioning
- Implement and optimize preventive maintenance, CMMS/work order systems, spare parts strategy, and equipment reliability programs
- Develop KPIs to drive CAPEX and reliability improvements and report performance versus targets
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance and engineering staff; manage hiring, training, performance, and discipline
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets and provide input to monthly and annual planning
- Support root cause analysis, CAPA, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, ISO standards, environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, HR, and vendors on projects and operational support
- Maintain documentation and control systems for ISO 9001, 14001, 45000, and FSSC 22000 as applicable
- Other duties as assigned; travel up to 5 percent and on-call availability as needed
Requirements
- BS in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 7+ years experience in manufacturing or construction; 7+ years with mechanical and electrical systems preferred
- 5+ years supervisory or team lead experience in maintenance
- Experience in aseptic and/or powder manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong project planning, budgeting, risk management, FAT and validation, and equipment qualification experience
- Advanced mechanical and electrical skills; PLC knowledge a plus
- Familiarity with GMPs, SOPs, ISO standards, and regulated manufacturing environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, technical proficiency, and data analysis skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, be on-call, and travel as necessary
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Work in a food manufacturing environment requiring adherence to GMP, food safety, and PPE requirements
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50 pounds, maneuver drums with assistance, stand and walk on concrete, bend, reach, push, and pull
Pay
Salary Range: \$128,600 - \$155,000 per year
Bonus: Up to 15 percent potential
