About the role

The Manager of Employee Relations oversees employee relations matters and related areas, providing advice on employment regulations and fostering a compliant workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Create presentations for management on employee relations issues.
  • Respond to formal and informal complaints and questions in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with management to gather incident-related documents and statements.
  • Investigate and mediate disputes, documenting all aspects of cases.
  • Maintain an employee relations log and contribute to company-wide practices.
  • Develop and deliver training to promote compliance and foster a safe work environment.
  • Review and interpret federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in resolving labor disputes and prepare for inquiries by federal/state agencies.
  • Stay updated on labor relations developments and conduct research to support company objectives.

Requirements

  • Five plus years of experience in retail relations in a multi-contract union environment.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study, with an Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Must have a Gaming License.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in labor negotiations and understanding of the National Labor Relations Act.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage change.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment principles and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard, calculator, etc.
  • Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees as well as outside contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability in labor negotiations.
  • Working knowledge and interpretation of the National Labor Relations Act.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to select good people and create a productive environment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities between multiple business units.
  • Demonstrated business savvy to effectively communicate and work with other executives.
