Responsibilities
- Publish reports to help track automation equipment availability and the cost of downtime events to the business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to build out and expand an existing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
- Ensure the SCADA system includes automated and on-demand reporting capabilities.
- Define and implement long-term solutions for ongoing automation issues via the Engineering Change Control Process (ECCR).
- Provide guidance and support for new vendor-provided automation scripts.
- Drive transformational changes to processes.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues affecting pharmacy automation and performance to maintain a “Steady State” level of pharmacy productivity.
- Guide, oversee, and implement support for new vendor-provided automation projects.
- Create documentation to support ongoing knowledge and maintenance of automation equipment.
- Provide training on new automation equipment and new features on existing automation equipment to technicians, equipment operators, and management.
- Analyze engineering-design concepts and proposals for new automation equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems, focusing on operational reliability and vendor ability to incorporate data elements required for system analysis and reporting.
- Utilize external vendors and internal resources to ensure data elements required for system analysis and reporting are incorporated in automation equipment control system software and integrated with data collected by the SCADA system.
- Review supplier documentation and drawings, propose design modifications, and identify costs for improvements and other performance requirements.
- Develop criteria for evaluation of equipment and suppliers, including acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
- Observe and conduct tests at supplier and pharmacy locations to evaluate reliability factors, such as causes and frequencies of system failures.
- Develop and amend detailed design and installation specifications for automation equipment and processes.
- Align data elements for system analysis and reporting with commissioning plans.
- Collaborate in the vendor evaluation and selection process for new equipment and process automation.
- Incorporate data elements required for system analysis, reporting, and design.
- Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications and associated equipment.
- Mentor staff on new automation equipment and new features on existing automation equipment.
10% travel required within the U.S. for meetings, design reviews, and project implementations with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Operations Research, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Two (2) years of experience in each of the following:
- Six Sigma Methodology
- Data mining, predictive analysis, and regression analysis
- Root-Cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCF, RCFA)
- Fault Tree Analysis
- Reliability Modeling and Prediction
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system
- Troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications
- CNC Machine Tools
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Completion of a university-level course, internship, or research project in each of the following:
- Programming in R or Python
- Mathematical Modeling, including optimization
- Time Series Analysis
- Supply chain modeling and analysis
- Discrete Event Simulation
Pay
Pay Range: $95,410.00/year to $145,860.00/year. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program, as well as an award target in the company’s equity award program.
