The Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership (The Partnership) Manager/Director of Content & Digital Communications leads and executes the production, editing, and strategic alignment of all organizational communications, including digital and print materials, social media, media relations, and speeches. ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Management – 40%Develop and maintain annual content calendar for The Partnership and Better in BTR social media accounts including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTokDesign compelling images, graphics, and basic videos optimized for various social media platformsPost content and images according to scheduleMonitor social media communities and implement digital audits to develop, track, and report on KPIs and strategy recommendationsEngage with partner accounts and posts on behalf of The Partnership and Better in BTR as appropriateMaintain expertise in social media marketing techniques and economic development best practices and serves as resource for The Partnership staff Content Development & Management – 35%Develop and create a variety of engaging content formats including social media posts (text, image captions, short-form video scripts), website copy (landing pages, news articles, program descriptions), email marketing content (newsletters, announcements), speeches, and presentationsDevelop and maintain monthly communications calendar, managing email communications, press releases, report releases, etc.Conduct research and interviews as needed to gather information and develop accurate and informative contentServe as an editor for The Partnership stakeholder communications as needed, providing guidance, content development, and proofing expertiseMaintain and update website content regularly for The Partnership and Better in BTR Partnership Management – 10%Identify, solicit, cultivate, and manage Better in BTR partnerships that expand the campaign’s reach and visibility, including coordinating partner participation, providing content and messaging resources, and developing opportunities for partners to amplify the brand across their own channels Communications Management & Public Relations Duties – 10%Draft and/or edit news releases, media pitches, event briefings, talking points, and assist the departments in filling out surveys, speech writing, editing copy, etc.Assist with organizational announcements and announcement events with companies, localities/REDOs, and governmental agencies, maintaining clear and regular communication with all stakeholdersTrack, document, and report on local media placements and coverage, including monitoring media mentions, identifying trends and opportunities for increased visibility, and maintaining accurate records of earned media activity Other Duties – 5%Support department activities as needed (e.g. staffing events)Support additional design efforts as needed (e.g. print materials, merchandise, etc.)Manage content and assets, in conjunction with other marketing team members Qualifications*Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related fieldMinimum 3-5 years of marketing, communications, and/or public relations experienceExceptional written communication skills with a proven ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content quickly for various digital platforms, including website copy, social media, and email marketingDemonstrated ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and platformsConsiderable knowledge of general marketing, social media, collateral development, website management and communications techniques is keyBasic understanding of economic development principles and state and local government programsConsiderable and successful experience in developing and implementing effective communications strategiesExcellent project management and deadline management skillsStrong analytical skills for measuring and optimizing marketing effectivenessAbility to lift 30-40 lbs. *This position may be filled at either the Manager or Director level, with the final title determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, and level of expertise.
