Responsibilities

  • Utilizes pre-construction understanding of operational considerations to assess project risks and formulate mitigation plans.
  • Develops and updates project budgets using the “Project Budget Tracking Form.”
  • Delivers projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner according to the approved project scope.
  • Effectively manages and collaborates on multiple small projects simultaneously.
  • Leads the design and construction process, managing consultants, vendors, and contractors on multiple projects.
  • Leads project evaluation meetings and administrative reviews from conception to completion.
  • Monitors the negotiation and bidding process to ensure fair and competitive practices.
  • Develops, manages, and delivers a project change control process to ensure the project team operates within the scope and change approval process.
  • Coordinates the work of the Project Coordinator to assure the project is progressing appropriately, frequently visits job site throughout construction.
  • Monitors contractor activities for compliance with project budget and specification requirements.
  • Effectively prepares and presents technical and/or educational documentation of assigned projects to enhance the knowledge of our customers and team members affected.
  • Actively participates in internal and/or external training programs, staying current and compliant on application or technical skills applicable to assigned duties.
  • Follows established procedures of the Office of Design and Construction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Office of Design and Construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management or related field, AND/OR equivalent years of experience in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management or related field. [Required]
  • Master's degree [Preferred]
  • 5+ years of design and construction project management experience. [Required]
  • 3+ years of healthcare design and construction project management experience [Preferred]
  • Experience with AHCA regulations, JCAHO/DNV standards, and other applicable codes of the construction industry [Required]

Skills

  • Excellent project management skills to manage multiple small to mid-sized healthcare projects [Required]
  • Knowledge of healthcare design and construction techniques [Required]
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contracts [Required]
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills [Required]
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with and manage multi-faceted teams [Required]
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook [Required]
  • Comfortable in making presentations to management and customers [Required]
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar project management program [Preferred]
  • Proficient in e-Builder software program [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

  • Professional Engineer License (PE) [Preferred]
  • General Contractor License (GENCON) [Preferred]
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) [Preferred]
