About the role
Total Wine & More is seeking a Manager, Demand Planning to join our growing Supply Chain team in our Bethesda, MD office. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the company's demand planning strategy using advanced planning tools and cross-functional collaboration. The Manager will build and refine forecasting processes, drive consensus across teams, and champion initiatives that improve inventory management and sales performance. This is a key opportunity to contribute to a broader supply chain transformation and influence operational success. This role will report into the Sr. Manager, Demand Planning.
Responsibilities
- Build statistical forecast models using the o9 planning system and serve as a subject matter expert on its Demand Planning module.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations, and Finance to align on demand inputs and ensure forecast accuracy.
- Champion the development of demand plans across items, categories, and planning levels that meet KPIs such as forecast accuracy and in-stock rates.
- Align demand planning processes with Integrated Business Planning efforts, supporting consensus-building and strategic decision-making.
- Spearhead root cause analysis for forecast variances and translate insights into process improvements and system enhancements.
- Manage demand planning activities for new product launches, line extensions, and product discontinuations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Influence internal stakeholders by communicating trends, risks, and opportunities derived from large-scale data analysis and forecasting metrics.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to demand planning workflows and cross-functional coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent years of experience.
- 5-8 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting or inventory planning.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- High attention to detail and understanding of demand drivers across interdependent product categories.
- Experience in process development and improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with o9 is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal partners.
- Strong organizational skills and strategic thinking with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
